The production process of aluminum profiles mainly includes the following steps:
Raw material preparation: The main raw material for producing aluminum profiles is aluminum ingots, which are mainly reduced from alumina. High quality aluminum ingots contain up to 99.7% aluminum. In addition, a certain proportion of alloying elements such as copper, magnesium, manganese, silicon, etc. need to be added to improve the performance of aluminum profiles.
Melting and Casting: Aluminum ingots and alloy elements are placed in a furnace for melting. During the melting process, constant stirring is required to ensure uniform distribution of each element. After melting, the aluminum liquid is subjected to slag removal treatment, and then poured into a mold for casting to produce aluminum alloy ingots. This process usually includes three steps: heating, insulation, and slow cooling.
Extrusion molding: The aluminum alloy ingot after heat treatment is sent to an extruder for extrusion. During the extrusion process, the ingot is extruded into the desired cross-sectional shape of the profile through a specific mold under high temperature and pressure.
Cutting and cooling: The extruded aluminum profiles need to be cut and cooled. Cutting is to cut the aluminum profiles into the required length, while cooling can be done through air cooling or water cooling to quickly cool the aluminum profiles in a short period of time.
Flattening and aging: Aluminum profiles formed by extrusion usually have certain deformations, so they need to be flattened. Flattening treatment can be carried out through heat treatment or mechanical treatment, while aging treatment is carried out to further improve the mechanical properties and stability of aluminum profiles, usually under certain temperature and time conditions.
