The surfaces that have not been machined may have a thick oxide layer formed during the casting process, and some may even have sand layers. In this case, the original oxide film in this area should be removed by machining or sandblasting first, or by alkali washing before processing. Attention should be paid to the issues in the pre-treatment process of precision machined parts: Although the natural oxide film on the surface of precision machined parts is just formed and easy to remove, the grease is heavy, especially in and around the holes. Such workpieces must be cleaned with organic solvents first. If they are directly washed with alkali, not only is the grease difficult to remove, but the precision machined surface cannot withstand long-term strong alkali corrosion, which will also affect the roughness and tolerance of the workpiece surface, and may eventually become waste.
