What are the key steps for producing aluminum profiles introduced by aluminum profile manufacturers ?

Aluminum profile manufacturers introduce that producing aluminum profiles is a complex and delicate process, mainly involving multiple key steps such as melting, extrusion, and coloring.
1、 Raw material preparation
Main raw material: Aluminum ingots, mainly reduced from alumina. High quality aluminum ingots contain up to 99.7% aluminum. In addition, a certain proportion of alloying elements such as copper, magnesium, manganese, silicon, etc. need to be added to improve the performance of aluminum profiles.
2、 Melting and Casting
Ingredients: Calculate the amount of various alloy components to be added according to the specific alloy grade required for production, and reasonably match various raw materials.
Smelting: Put aluminum ingots and alloy elements into a furnace for smelting. During the smelting process, continuous stirring is required to ensure uniform distribution of various elements. At the same time, impurities and gases in the melt are effectively removed through degassing and slag refining methods to obtain pure aluminum liquid.
Casting: The melted aluminum liquid is cooled and cast into various specifications of round cast rods through a deep well casting system under certain casting process conditions. These round cast rods are the basic materials for subsequent extrusion molding.
3、 Extrusion molding
Mold design: Produce corresponding molds based on the cross-sectional design of profile products. The accuracy and quality of molds have a significant impact on the quality of extruded aluminum profiles.
Squeezing process: The heated round cast rod is sent into the extruder, and the round cast rod is extruded from the mold into shape through the strong pressure of the extruder. During the extrusion process, temperature, pressure, and speed parameters need to be controlled to ensure the dimensional accuracy and surface quality of the profile. Commonly used grades such as 6063 alloy also need to undergo air cooling quenching and manual aging processes during extrusion to complete heat treatment strengthening.

4、 Subsequent processing
Cutting and cooling: The extruded aluminum profiles need to be cut to the desired length and cooled by air or water cooling to quickly reduce the temperature.
Flattening and aging: Aluminum profiles formed by extrusion usually have certain deformations and require flattening treatment. At the same time, in order to improve the hardness and strength of aluminum profiles, aging treatment (i.e. aging) is required. Aging treatment usually involves heat treatment of aluminum profiles at a certain temperature to change their microstructure and improve their performance.
Surface treatment: In order to improve the corrosion resistance and aesthetics of aluminum profiles, surface treatment is usually required. Common surface treatment methods include anodizing, electrophoretic coating, spraying, electroplating, etc. Among them, anodizing is a commonly used surface treatment method that can increase the corrosion resistance, wear resistance, and aesthetic appearance of aluminum materials.
5、 Inspection and Packaging
Quality inspection: Conduct quality inspection on the produced aluminum profiles, including testing of dimensions, appearance, mechanical properties, etc., to ensure that the product quality meets the standard requirements.
Packaging: Packaging aluminum profiles that have passed inspection for storage and transportation. During the packaging process, attention should be paid to preventing deformation and damage of the profiles.
