Silicon is the main element that increases the strength of industrial aluminum profiles, while pure aluminum is very soft and cannot be used in the industrial field.

In fact, the alloy composition of industrial aluminum profiles and Architectural Aluminum Profiles is the same, both are 6063 grade aluminum alloys. Aluminum alloy doors and windows are the most familiar to everyone. Despite being exposed to sunlight and rain every day, they still do not oxidize or corrode, and can be used for decades without any problems. And industrial aluminum profiles are generally used in indoor environments, so their lifespan is longer.

In fact, the service life of industrial aluminum profiles is affected by the following factors:

1. Whether industrial aluminum profiles have undergone surface treatment. Generally, the surface of industrial aluminum profiles is subjected to anodizing treatment, although there are also cases where it is not treated. The service life of surface anodizing treatment is higher than that of the substrate, because the artificially formed oxide film is more uniform, dense, and much thicker than the naturally formed oxide film in air, which can effectively block air, and the hard oxide film is very wear-resistant.

2. The lifespan of use in outdoor environments and indoor environments is also different. Some special industrial aluminum profiles may be used in water or even more corrosive environments, in which case the anodizing time is generally increased to increase the thickness of the oxide film, or surface hardening oxidation is performed.

3. The quality and alloy composition of industrial aluminum profiles are not up to standard, or there are too many impurities, which will greatly affect the service life of industrial aluminum profiles. Especially iron, if industrial aluminum profiles contain a certain amount of iron, their corrosion resistance will be greatly reduced. Some factories use recycled aluminum to produce aluminum profiles with dark black hair on the surface, indicating that the iron content exceeds the standard.
